Dealer Relationship & Activity
Ambassadors will be paired with a local Pau Hana dealer to promote the brand and the SUP shop in their area. Ambassadors are expected to attend events at their local dealer and to tell people in the area where they can buy Pau Hana products. It is the responsibility of the dealer to contact the ambassador about local events with sufficient time to plan and prepare. It is the responsibility of the ambassador to become familiar with the local dealers and the Pau Hana products that they carry.
Pau Hana will also ask ambassadors to participate in industry-wide events and tradeshows. Those living locally to where the events and tradeshows are held are encouraged to participate with Pau Hana at the event.
Tournament Results and Reporting: Recaps of Activities
Ambassadors who participate in tournaments or racing events, should provide results at the end of each month. Please include event name, date, division, finish or award, and entry amount if applicable. Non-competition Ambassadors are encouraged to provide video, photography, and summaries of their activities/adventures.
Public Appearances, Earned Media, and Promotion
Ambassadors are encouraged to participate in online and local media in partnership with Pau Hana. Such affiliations and exposure will provide opportunities in our incentive program. The following are examples:
Published articles, reviews, blog posts, or editorials featuring Pau Hana products
Published videos and photography featuring Pau Hana products
Photographs while wearing Pau Hana apparel at tournaments, events, or races
ambassadors should be available for video and/or photo shoots as a standard part of our agreement.
The generation of content through your involvement in industry activities and the SUP lifestyle will be important to the success of the Ambassador program. You were chosen to participate in this program because you represent the Pau Hana lifestyle and the content that you produce reflects how Pau Hana Surf Supply is viewed as a brand and experience. Content should be provided on a consistent basis through social media. Please review the following for tips and objectives for content generation and submission.
Pau Hana Surf Supply has a presence on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube, and expects attention from Ambassadors to promote the brand on these platforms. Ambassadors should maintain, if not doing so prior to this agreement, a profile or page on Facebook, at minimum.
The division between promotional and organic content should be noted.
To avoid repetition and maintain consistency, the social media expectations are written with Facebook as the focus platform
Posting applicable promotional content to the Pau Hana page from your personal profile
Tagging the Pau Hana page in personal profile posts (status update, image/video uploads, or other posts) when organic content arises that is relevant to the Pau Hana brand or is noteworthy in relation to your ambassadorship with Pau Hana (certain amount a month? 4?)
Interacting organically with the Pau Hana page - commenting and liking posts, shared content, and other information on the Pau Hana page
This process will drive traffic to the Pau hana page and encourage further communication and transparency between Pau Hana, the team, and the consumers
This should lead to better engagement on social level as time progresses and online rapport is built between the Pau Hana home office and Team Pau Hana
SUP Zero: This site will be used to track the media attention and exposure of the Ambassadors. If you write a blog or are mentioned in an article, it will show up in the factor. More information will come on how to track yourself in the factor. Exposure in the SUP Zero factor will have a direct relationship to the points an ambassador will have toward the incentives.
When we go on location to film a Pau Hana Adventure travel video, we will look at content from our Athletes and Ambassadors and invite some individuals to be featured in our videos.
Equipment, Apparel & Accessories
Pau Hana Ambassadors will receive the following as part of their contract:
30% off MSRP for up to 3 boards per contract/season. The ambassador is responsible for providing content with use of the board they have purchased at this discounted price. These boards must be used by the Ambassador during the season in which they are purchased, but can be sold or given to family/friends after Labor Day.
Accessories: 50% off of accessories including board bags, paddles, and SeaMount® accessories.
Shipping costs for boards and accessories must be provided by the ambassador.
Pau Hana Apparel: Ambassadors will be provided with hats and other apparel to help promote the Pau Hana brand. Apparel items will be given to ambassadors at the availability that the home office has them.
Pau Hana Marketing Materials: Ambassadors may be provided with other marketing materials such as stickers. Ambassadors may request additional materials such as stickers and hats when attending SUP industry events to hand out to patrons.
Digital items: Ambassadors may request logos for their personal websites. Any other digital image requests will be reviewed and fulfilled on a case-by-case basis.
Conflicts of Interest and Additional Sponsors
Ambassadors may only promote and use SUPs manufactured by Pau Hana Surf Supply. Equipment is for personal use and brand promotion only. Equipment may be sold after the end of season (Labor Day) to others for personal use, but not for resale. Online sales (ebay, Craigslist) are prohibited.
Ambassadors are welcome to pursue additional sponsors who are not in direct competition with Pau Hana Surf Supply. For example, bag, shoe, and clothing companies are perfectly acceptable. We ask that the logo sizing and placement reflect the value of sponsorship received.
Do not use any Pau Hana hashtags to represent, promote, or post social media while using or participating on any other stand up paddle board, while a part of this program
Athlete/Ambassadors are not employees, agents, partners, joint venture participants, or contractors for the Company. This Agreement limits the relationship between the Ambassador and company just to the discount program described. The Ambassador participates voluntarily, and at the sole discretion of the Company. Contract is effective (date).
Pau Hana employees, agents, officers, heirs and assigns are not responsible in any manner for any injury sustained during the Ambassadors’ events, or at any other time. The Ambassador understands they are voluntarily engaging in this program, and are responsible for and accept solely all risk associated with their activities. The Ambassador must be actively engaged in their communities or in events providing visibility to Pau Hana’s products, at least six months during the year to remain eligible.
